Candace Cameron Bure Discusses Hollywood’s Evolving Stance on Faith and Beliefs

POLICY WIRE — City, Country — Candace Cameron Bure, a prominent Christian figure in Hollywood, has shared her views on the industry’s shifting perspective on celebrities’ beliefs. Known for her outspoken faith, Bure has faced public scrutiny but believes the stigma has lessened over time.

Currently promoting her participation in season five of Fox’s reality show Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test, Bure reflected on her career, which began with the popular sitcom Full House in the Eighties and Nineties. She later reprised her role as D.J. Tanner-Fuller in the Netflix sequel Fuller House from 2016 to 2020.

Bure faced controversy in 2022 when she became the chief creative officer of the conservative TV network Great American Family and advocated for traditional marriage. Despite this, she noted that expressing one’s beliefs in Hollywood is now more accepted, though some stigma remains.

She emphasized the importance of sharing and respecting diverse opinions, stating that it enhances personal conviction and intelligence. Bure also highlighted the role of upbringing in shaping beliefs and expressed hope for a less divisive political climate in the U.S.

In Special Forces, set to premiere on September 24, Bure will compete alongside other reality TV stars and athletes, including George Santos and Brandi Glanville. At 50 and soon to be a grandmother, she hopes her participation will inspire women of her age to embrace challenges.
