POLICY WIRE — London, UK — The family of Auguste-Marie Bile-aka Amoa, a 32-year-old bus driver, is mourning his tragic death after he was shot outside The Prince of Wales pub in Clapham last Monday. The incident occurred at approximately 10:30 PM, according to police reports.
“We are heartbroken and struggling to come to terms with the sudden loss of our beloved Auguste-Marie,” said a family spokesperson. “He was an amazing young man, full of life and always willing to help others. His death has left a void in our hearts.”
Amoa, originally from Cameroon, had been living in London for several years and was known for his dedication to his job and his community involvement. Neighbors described him as friendly and always ready to lend a helping hand.
Metropolitan Police have launched a murder investigation and are appealing for witnesses. “We are treating this as a priority and are doing everything we can to find those responsible for this heinous crime,” said Detective Inspector Jane Smith. “We urge anyone with information to come forward.”
No arrests have been made as of yet, and the motive behind the shooting remains unclear. The community has rallied in support of the family, with a candlelight vigil planned for later this week.
This incident adds to the growing concerns about violence in London, prompting calls for increased police presence and community safety measures. The local council has announced additional patrols in the area to reassure residents.
