POLICY WIRE — Hong Kong — Approximately 500 Hong Kong students are participating in the annual summer camp organized by the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) garrison. The two-week program is designed to instill patriotism, discipline, — and military skills among young individuals.

Among the participants is Lo Wan-lung, a Form One student at Salesian English School, who’s attending the camp for the first time. Lo expressed his enthusiasm for the opportunity to undergo weapons-related training and experience mock shooting drills.

The camp aims to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of military life and foster a sense of national pride. Activities include physical training, team-building exercises, and educational sessions on military history and strategy.
