POLICY WIRE — Singapore — A 38-year-old Singaporean man was sentenced to 21 years in jail and 16 strokes of the cane on Monday for engaging in a sexual relationship with his 13-year-old niece. The man, whose identity is withheld to protect the victim, pleaded guilty to six charges including statutory rape and sexual assault. An additional 17 charges were taken into consideration during sentencing.
