POLICY WIRE — Los Angeles, United States — Federal agents have made a major drug bust in downtown Los Angeles, uncovering 42.6 kilograms of fentanyl, a golden gun, and a small alligator during a raid on a luxury apartment.

The operation led to the arrest of Marvin Angelito, 27, and Susan Gonzalez, 26, who were charged with possession with intent to distribute fentanyl. The Justice Department described their residence as a known drug trafficking location.

Alongside the narcotics, law enforcement recovered a gold-plated Desert Eagle .50-caliber pistol, a hydraulic press, an AR-15 rifle, and lab equipment used for drug production. The alligator was taken by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. Both suspects appeared in court this week, with Angelito remaining in custody and Gonzalez released on a $15,000 bond.
