POLICY WIRE — Washington, D.C. — Vice President JD Vance revealed in a recent podcast that had the 2024 assassination attempt on Donald Trump been successful, he would have questioned the legitimacy of any subsequent Republican presidency, fearing a deep-seated conspiracy.
During a conversation with Christian podcaster Bryce Crawford, Vance defended Trump’s posting of an AI-generated image of himself as Jesus, stating that the president did not intend to mock or mimic God. Instead, Vance described Trump as someone who likes to keep things light and often makes jokes.
The discussion also delved into Vance’s views on the end times, with the vice president recalling his youthful obsession with the concept during the late 1990s. He expressed concerns about the use of artificial intelligence, particularly in replacing human interaction, which he deemed as very bad.
Vance shared his experiences of feeling “dark spiritual energy” in certain meetings and locations, such as Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, attributing it to the historical carnage of the Civil War battlefield.
