Vance Condemns Alleged White House Access Selling as Disgusting and Despicable
Vance addresses allegations of selling White House access and potential congressional subpoenas in a new interview ahead of the midterm elections.
POLICY WIRE — Michigan, USA — During a town hall event scheduled for broadcast this Saturday, Vance addressed concerns regarding the integrity of the Trump administration. The discussion with CBS Evening News anchor Tony Dokoupil took place less than three weeks before the upcoming midterm elections.
The conversation touched upon several controversies, including reports of significant cryptocurrency earnings by Mr. Trump. Dokoupil also questioned Vance about the departure of U.S. Ambassador to Greece Kimberly Guilfoyle, who faced accusations of soliciting a $100,000 payment from an individual seeking assistance from the administration.
Vance characterized the act of selling access to the White House as disgusting and despicable, asserting that anyone involved in such conduct should face consequences. However, he noted that he prefers to base his judgments on verified facts rather than media reports.
Both Guilfoyle and Mr. Trump have denied any wrongdoing or conflicts of interest regarding these allegations. Meanwhile, Democrats in Congress have pledged to launch investigations into the administration should they secure a majority in the House or Senate, a move that would grant them subpoena power.
When pressed on whether the administration would honor potential subpoenas, Vance confirmed his intent to comply. He stated that the administration intends to follow the law.
