Authorities stated that the condition of the victim’s body suggested foul play, though no further details were released. The accused Marine, aged 20, is stationed at Futenma Air Station on the same island. Surveillance footage reportedly captured a man with a shaved head—believed to be a foreigner—entering the hotel room with the woman and later exiting with her belongings, according to police.
