The pilot ejected from the F-16 Fighting Falcon, which was assigned to the 52nd Fighter Wing, and received medical attention. The crash occurred around 2:30 p.m. local time, and the cause is currently under investigation, the U.S. Air Base Spangdahlem reported.

Emergency services responded to the incident, and the location of the crash is in the district of Spangdahlem, home to an F-16 squadron with about 20 aircraft. The base has been a key U.S. military presence since the mid-1950s, supporting both U.S. Air Force and NATO operations globally.
