FAA Administrator Bryan Bedford stated that a backup fiber line had been damaged by a construction crew, leading to significant flight cuts. A replacement circuit is expected to be restored soon, though it remains unclear when the restrictions will be lifted. Over 600 flights were delayed at Newark and Philadelphia airports, with some experiencing average delays of over two hours.
