POLICY WIRE — Tampa, Florida — A violent confrontation unfolded at a major business campus on Wednesday when a suspect used a vehicle to breach security and began a shooting.

According to local authorities, the gunman drove a car into a courtyard located within the sprawling Citibank office complex before deploying a rifle.

The attack resulted in the death of one woman. Following the initial shooting, a security guard on-site returned fire and fatally wounded the suspect.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office has not yet established a motive for the deadly attack. Investigators are also working to determine if the gunman and the victim had any prior relationship.

The incident caused chaos among the employees working at the campus as law enforcement arrived to secure the active crime scene.
