Trump’s Press Secretary Faces Legal Licensing Questions
Investigating claims that Trump's press secretary lacks legal credentials. New details emerge about her career.
POLICY WIRE — Washington, D.C. — Donald Trump’s newly appointed White House Press Secretary, Katie Zacharia, has come under scrutiny after she was seen referring to herself as an attorney despite no evidence of formal legal licensing.
Zacharia, who previously served as general counsel for a conservative advocacy group and worked with a Chinese law firm, has not been listed with the State Bar of California, where she resides. Additionally, there is no record of her passing a U.S. bar exam, raising questions about her professional background.
During her first press briefing, Trump asked Zacharia which state she passed the bar in, highlighting the growing debate over her qualifications. Despite her media appearances and roles in right-wing organizations, there is no public documentation of her practicing law in any U.S. jurisdiction.
