Trump Faces 60 Minutes Interview Following Massive Democratic Sweep in Midterm Elections
President Trump sits down with 60 Minutes for his first interview since Democrats seized control of the House and Senate in midterm victories.
POLICY WIRE — Washington, D.C. — President Trump is scheduled to give his first sit-down interview with 60 Minutes since the Democrats secured significant victories in the recent midterm elections.
CBS correspondent Ross Douthat met with the President at the White House on Friday, just days after the network projected that the opposition would reclaim control of both the House of Representatives and the Senate.
Current results show Democrats capturing more than 40 seats in the House, while more than twenty-four races remain undecided. In the Senate, the Democratic party gained seven seats, though races in Alaska and Mississippi are still too close to determine.
During the segment, Douthat is expected to question the President regarding Republican electoral losses, upcoming congressional inquiries, the ongoing conflicts in Ukraine and Iran, and the current state of the economy.
The interview will air Sunday at 7 p.m. ET/PT on CBS and Paramount+. An extended version of the conversation will also be available on YouTube on Sunday night.
