Trump Criticizes Judge and ‘Vandals’ After Golf Club Visit

POLICY WIRE — Washington, D.C. — After a weekend at his Virginia golf club, President Donald Trump took to Truth Social to vent his frustrations regarding his renovation projects at the Kennedy Center and the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool.

Trump described the Kennedy Center as an outdated and deteriorating structure that requires significant construction and public relations efforts to regain its former prestige. He criticized a federal judge for not allowing the necessary renovations, claiming the center has been losing money for years.

A judge is set to decide if the Trump-led Kennedy Center board broke court orders by approving an inscription stating the building was’renovated and restored by President Donald J. Trump.’ This decision comes despite a May ruling that the venue cannot be renamed without congressional approval.

Lawyers for Democratic Rep. Joyce Beatty, a Kennedy Center board member, argue that the new plan circumvents the May ruling and represents an attack on the rule of law, aimed at masking the financial turmoil caused by Trump’s management, which has led to artist cancellations and reduced ticket sales.

The Trump administration contends that the Kennedy Center is in urgent need of renovation, warning that without action, the building could face demolition in the future. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick echoed this sentiment, stating that without proper restoration, the center would continue to deteriorate until it becomes unusable.

Trump also addressed issues at the National Mall, specifically the grass between the World War II Monument and the Reflecting Pool, which he claims was vandalized. He shared an image showing ’86 47′ inscribed in the lawn and announced plans to replace the grass and complete repairs to the Reflecting Pool.

The president has blamed vandals for damage to the Reflecting Pool, but administration officials have acknowledged that the issues were likely due to poor construction. This admission led U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro to dismiss a case against a former Olympian, as the damage was attributed to contractor errors.

Trump’s frustration was further fueled when Pirro called for the judge to consider new charges against David Hearn, who had previously denied any wrongdoing. Meanwhile, a woman was indicted for spray-painting the WWII Memorial, with her arraignment scheduled for next week.
