POLICY WIRE — Washington, D.C. — Former President Donald Trump has officially thrown his support behind Benjamin Netanyahu as Israel approaches its national elections later this month.

In a formal letter and a subsequent post on Truth Social this Sunday, Trump lauded the Israeli leader, describing him as a great warrior prime minister. He further characterized Netanyahu as an exceptional partner in the ongoing efforts to confront Iran.

Trump emphasized the necessity of Netanyahu’s leadership, suggesting that if Israel were to choose a different path, the United States would be forced to intervene directly. He stated, “If Israel has the wrong leader, meaning anyone other than Bibi, America will have to do this job itself, and I am not inclined to do that.”

The endorsement follows earlier speculation regarding Trump’s potential involvement in the Israeli political process. While he previously suggested it might be appropriate to remain neutral, his latest actions signal a firm commitment to Netanyahu, whom he described as strong, brave, and brilliant.
