POLICY WIRE — City, Country — Police Constables Matthew Blades and Tom Clough, along with five young people, were tragically killed in a wrong-way collision on the A66. The incident occurred when a vehicle traveling against traffic struck their police car.
Emergency services responded immediately, but all occupants of the police vehicle were pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the wrong-way vehicle was also critically injured and transported to a nearby hospital.
