Toddler Snack Recalled Over Fatal Choking Hazard
Toddler snack sold at Walmart and Target recalled due to fatal choking risk, FDA announces
POLICY WIRE — Washington, D.C. — A popular toddler snack has been recalled by the FDA due to a fatal choking risk. The recall affects Once Upon A Farm Tractor Wheels Organic, Toddler Soft-Baked Bars.
The FDA received several reports of toddlers aged 1.5-2.5 years suffering complete airway obstruction after consuming the product. When chewed, the snack forms a dry, sticky mass that standard interventions may fail to dislodge.
The recalled products include various flavors of Tractor Wheels, which were sold nationwide at stores including Costco, Target, and Walmart. Parents can return the product for a full refund, and retailers have been instructed to stop selling the affected items.
Once Upon a Farm has agreed to initiate the recall, citing an abundance of caution and a commitment to quality. The company has warned customers against buying or serving the affected products, stating that they fell short of their trust and are taking aggressive actions.
In the event of a choking incident, caretakers should call 911 if other first aid measures fail to dislodge the obstruction. The FDA has also provided information on how to report complaints or adverse events.
