President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed the incident but didn’t specify the exact target. He stated that efforts are underway to ascertain the details of the attack. “A rescue operation is currently under way in the Kyiv region following a Russian missile strike,” Zelensky said on Telegram.
Acting governor of the Kyiv region, Oleksiy Kuleba, provided additional details on the Telegram messaging app, indicating that the missile struck near the site of the defence industry event. Emergency services are actively engaged in rescue efforts.
The attack underscores the ongoing conflict — and the vulnerability of civilian and industrial targets within Ukraine. The Ukrainian government has consistently condemned such actions, labeling them as war crimes.
