Report: Corey Lewandowski Allegedly Pitched Foreign Governments While Serving as Noem Aide

POLICY WIRE — Washington, D.C. — Corey Lewandowski, the former campaign manager for Donald Trump, is facing allegations that he attempted to secure side deals with foreign governments during his tenure as a senior aide to then-Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem.

A new report indicates that Lewandowski, serving as a special government employee, exerted significant influence over federal contracts and placed allies throughout the Department of Homeland Security. One such associate reportedly received compensation as high as $19,000 per week.

The report describes Lewandowski as a shadow secretary who traveled alongside Noem, attended the majority of department meetings, and held substantial authority over the allocation of departmental funds. He departed the agency in March following Noem’s dismissal.

According to the report, Lewandowski reached out to officials in Qatar and the United Arab Emirates to propose outside consulting work. Sources familiar with the matter stated that he suggested he could assist with DHS-related issues, such as visa matters, though both nations reportedly rejected his overtures.

Lewandowski has vehemently denied the allegations. In a post on X, he wrote: ‘The whole story is fiction.’ He further characterized the report as politically motivated and lacking on-the-record sources, stating: ‘I’m tremendously proud of my work as a volunteer in advancing this administration’s agenda and remain confident that the facts and not anonymous accusations will ultimately speak for themselves.’

A spokesperson for Lewandowski also denied that he sought foreign contracts or influenced DHS procurement, noting that he has not been contacted regarding an ongoing inspector general investigation into the department’s contracting practices.

Internal concerns regarding his influence were highlighted by a proposed $2.7 billion agreement with Palantir. After Palantir executives canceled a meeting with Lewandowski due to concerns over the pending contract, the deal was eventually reduced to $1 billion without a clear explanation provided to the firm.

DHS investigators are currently examining these claims, with potential for a criminal referral to the Department of Justice. House Democrats are also preparing to launch their own inquiry into the matter.

Regarding the possibility of prosecution, sources suggest Lewandowski has expressed confidence that he would receive a pardon from Donald Trump. The former president has reportedly indicated he would pardon those who have been close to his administration before leaving office.
