Rep. Nancy Mace Calls for Public Execution of Lindsay Clancy Following Child Murder Case

POLICY WIRE — Washington, D.C. — Representative Nancy Mace has publicly advocated for the execution of Lindsay Clancy, the Massachusetts woman currently facing charges for the 2023 deaths of her three children.

Clancy, a former labor-and-delivery nurse, is at the center of a high-profile legal battle. Her defense team maintains she was suffering from postpartum psychosis when she killed her children, who ranged in age from 8 months to 5 years old.

The legal proceedings recently resulted in a mistrial after a jury reached an 11-1 majority in favor of acquittal by reason of insanity. A court hearing is currently set for September 29, and Clancy remains in a psychiatric facility.

Mace, an outgoing South Carolina representative, expressed her stance during an interview with TMZ on Monday. She stated, “Her children are dead. She should be dead too,” while explicitly calling for the death penalty.

When asked about the nature of the punishment, Mace insisted it should be a public execution. She added, It could be by a firearm; it could be the electric chair. I don’t care, and confirmed she would support a public display of the execution as a warning to others.

The comments followed reports that Clancy’s attorney, Kevin Reddington, had sought intervention from President Donald Trump. Reddington suggested that Trump could influence Plymouth District Attorney Tim Cruz, though the President has since distanced himself from the matter, labeling it a state-level issue.

Mace dismissed the attorney’s request for presidential involvement as a publicity stunt. She characterized the legal strategy as nasty and ugly, reiterating her belief that Clancy should face the ultimate penalty for the deaths of her three children.
