POLICY WIRE — Jerusalem, Israel — Israel’s Likud party is reportedly debating whether to reject the latest parliamentary election outcomes amid allegations of external meddling and voting irregularities.
The faction has publicly challenged remarks by Central Elections Committee chair Justice Noam Sohlberg, who warned that even unproven suspicions of foreign interference could affect the vote’s legitimacy.
According to i24NEWS, Netanyahu received advice on Sunday to oppose the formal certification of the results, citing concerns about alleged electoral fraud within Arab constituencies.
Families of victims from the October 7 attacks gathered outside a meeting of Gadi Eisenkot’s bloc, urging opposition leaders to accelerate the formation of a new government and to consider replacing Netanyahu.
Following that gathering, Bennett told reporters, We have no time, we need to act with great urgency.
The vote left both Netanyahu and his chief rival Eisenkot short of the 61 seats required for a governing majority, signaling a protracted coalition‑building process.
