Midterm Election Confidence Plummets: Less Than Half of Voters Doubt Ballot Counting Accuracy
New poll shows less than half of voters doubt midterm vote accuracy. Concerns over election integrity rise as November approaches.
POLICY WIRE — Washington, D.C. — A recent survey reveals that fewer than half of likely voters believe every ballot will be accurately counted in the upcoming midterm elections, highlighting growing concerns about election fairness.
The NewsNation-Decision Desk HQ poll, conducted by AI research firm TrueDot.ai, found that only 46% of respondents were confident all votes would be properly tallied. This comes amid ongoing skepticism from former President Donald Trump, who has repeatedly questioned the integrity of U.S. elections.
Trump recently told reporters aboard Air Force One that he had received more requests for a third term, which he described as effectively a fourth, citing the 2020 election as totally rigged. The poll also revealed that 27% of voters worried about mail-in ballots being counted correctly, while 14% feared Republican interference and 13% suspected Democratic manipulation.
