Meta Enhances Muse Safety Warnings Following Security Flaw Discovery
Meta adds clearer safety warnings to Muse after a security flaw exposed user data risks, as reported by The Information.
POLICY WIRE — City, Country — Meta Platforms has introduced a more prominent safety warning within its AI assistant Muse following the identification of a security flaw that could have allowed unauthorized access to sensitive user data.
The vulnerability was uncovered by an external researcher via Meta’s bug bounty program and had not been previously disclosed. According to an internal report reviewed by The Information, the flaw could have enabled an attacker to access a user’s dedicated virtual machine, which contains personal information such as emails and files.
