London Police Warn of Arrests for Aiding Palestine Action Protesters

POLICY WIRE — London, UK — The Metropolitan Police have issued a stark warning, stating they will arrest anyone providing logistical support to demonstrators at the upcoming Palestine Action protest in London on Saturday.
This policy means individuals could face arrest for seemingly minor acts, such as bringing water to elderly or disabled protesters holding placards, according to organizers from Defend Our Juries (DOJ).
Commander Adam Slonecki, leading the police operation outside the US embassy, emphasized, Anyone officers consider to be playing a key role in organizing the event, giving instructions to others, and/or providing logistical support will very likely be committing an offence and face enforcement action.
DOJ has raised concerns that the broad definition of logistical support could ensnare media liaisons and other non-protesters. How can the Met justify arresting people who are not defying the ban themselves, who are simply providing support to the peaceful protesters, many of whom are elderly or disabled? a DOJ spokesperson asked rhetorically.
The organization further stated, “It is also reckless and irresponsible, putting the safety of elderly and disabled people at risk… The moral bankruptcy of the Met is complete.”
The London protest is scheduled to take place simultaneously with another in Edinburgh, just days before a supreme court challenge to the ban on Palestine Action. Both protests aim to highlight questions about potential US government influence on the UK’s decision to ban the group.
Palestine Action was proscribed as a terror organization in July 2025, the first direct action group in British history to receive such a designation. Since then, over 3,300 individuals have been arrested for peacefully defying the ban.
