Kim Kardashian Admits Career Fears Following Harsh All’s Fair Backlash
Kim Kardashian reveals she feared her acting career was over after brutal All's Fair reviews, but the backlash ultimately drove the show to number one status.
POLICY WIRE — City, Country — Kim Kardashian revealed she once believed her acting career had reached its end following scathing critiques of her performance in the legal drama All’s Fair. However, the negative reception served as an unexpected catalyst for high viewership.
The media mogul, who returns as divorce attorney Allura Grant for the second season, told the Press Association that she found it ironic how the wave of hostility actually encouraged viewers to tune in to see the performance for themselves. This curiosity propelled the series to the top of the charts for multiple weeks, proving that critics do not always hold the final word on success.
Kardashian admitted to deep anxiety that her fellow actors would resent her for the unprecedented level of negative attention brought to the production. Her outlook shifted after receiving a supportive voicemail from actress Sarah Paulson, which provided the confidence needed to commit fully to the new season.
Paulson later clarified her message, describing Kardashian as a special talent and noting that the season showcased a new level of confidence and humor in the character. The actress mentioned that both she and Naomi Watts were struck by Kardashian’s performance in specific final scenes of the first season.
Created by Ryan Murphy, the show features an ensemble cast including Glenn Close, Naomi Watts, Teyana Taylor, and Niecy Nash Betts. While the first season earned only a 6 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes, it remained a commercial success for Disney+.
The upcoming season includes a plot point where Kardashian’s character admits to failing the bar exam, a nod to the star’s own experience with the California exam in July 2025. Kardashian praised Murphy for the joke, noting he always respects her boundaries with the material. The second season of All’s Fair is scheduled to premiere on Disney+ on March 4.
