POLICY WIRE — Kansas City, USA — The Kansas City Chiefs added veteran kicker Justin Tucker to their practice squad on Wednesday, marking a return to the NFL for the five-time All-Pro following a 10-game suspension last year for violating the league’s personal conduct policy.
Tucker’s long tenure with the Baltimore Ravens concluded in May 2025 after he faced allegations of sexual misconduct from 16 massage therapists. While Tucker was never criminally charged or sued in civil court, he served the league-mandated suspension as a free agent and became eligible for reinstatement last November.
Chiefs head coach Andy Reid confirmed the signing, noting that Tucker had fulfilled his suspension requirements. The move comes as current Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker has struggled, missing 10 field-goal attempts and five extra points since the start of the previous season.
Reid emphasized that Butker remains the team’s primary kicker for the upcoming game in Denver, despite the addition of competition to the practice squad. Tucker, who will turn 37 next month, previously had a high-profile run-in with Chiefs stars Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce during the 2025 AFC championship game warmups.
