Jon Ossoff Secures Decisive Reelection Victory in Georgia Senate Race
Democrat Jon Ossoff clinches a commanding win over Republican Mike Collins, preserving Georgia’s pivotal Senate seat and solidifying Democratic control.
POLICY WIRE — Atlanta, Georgia — Democrat Jon Ossoff secured a decisive victory in the state’s 2024 Senate contest, easily outpacing Republican challenger Mike Collins.
The contest, flagged a year earlier as one of the cycle’s marquee Senate battles, ended with Ossoff retaining a pivotal Democratic seat in the upper chamber.
Election returns showed Ossoff winning comfortably, confirming early projections that he would fend off Collins’s spirited challenge.
His reelection sustains Democratic control of a critical Senate seat and keeps him among the chamber’s youngest members.
Major news outlets such as NPR, the BBC and The Guardian promptly projected Ossoff’s triumph after polls closed.
