John Brennan Subpoenaed in Florida Probe Amid Political Tensions
Former CIA chief John Brennan subpoenaed in Florida probe. Legal battle over 'grand conspiracy' investigation intensifies.
POLICY WIRE — Washington, D.C. — Former CIA Director John Brennan has been ordered to appear before a grand jury in Florida as part of an ongoing inquiry into alleged conspiracies involving Obama- and Biden-era officials, according to court records.
The subpoena, issued by former prosecutor Joe diGenova, was disclosed by Brennan’s attorney, Kenneth L. Wainstein, in a sworn statement. The order requires Brennan to testify on October 15 in Fort Pierce, Florida, as part of the broader probe into potential misconduct linked to former presidents.
Brennan’s legal team revealed that another prosecutor, Kurt Olsen, confirmed that the former intelligence official is considered a ‘subject’ in the case, which examines whether Obama- and Trump-era officials conspired to limit President Trump’s public presence. A separate, narrower investigation also remains active, focusing on whether Brennan provided false testimony to Congress regarding Russian election interference.
