Situated at 4,310 meters (14,140 feet) above sea level, the pass resumed trade operations on Saturday, marking the first time since 2020.

This reopening is significant for the approximately 600 registered traders in Sikkim who historically relied on this ancient route. The pass, which was closed due to heightened political tensions, now offers a renewed opportunity for economic exchange between the two nations.
