India and West Indies T20 Series Ends in 2-2 Draw After Rain Washes Out Decider
The India vs West Indies T20 series concludes in a 2-2 stalemate after rain forces the abandonment of the final match at Bengaluru's M Chinnaswamy Stadium.
POLICY WIRE — Bengaluru, India — The five-match T20 International series between India and the West Indies concluded in a 2-2 draw on Saturday, October 18, after inclement weather forced the abandonment of the final game.
The series decider at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium was reduced to a nine-over-per-side contest following an initial rain delay. West Indies won the toss, but persistent precipitation eventually halted play at 10:18 p.m.
At the time the match was called off, India had reached 118-5 after 7.4 overs. During the brief window of play, Ishan Kishan and Naman Dhir provided quick cameos, helping the hosts secure their fastest team fifty in men’s T20I history, which was achieved in just 2.5 overs.
The abandonment prevented veteran seamer Bhuvneshwar Kumar from having the opportunity to bowl. The match served as a notable occasion, marking the return of international cricket to the Bengaluru venue.
