Falcons’ Michael Penix Jr. Suffers Rib Injury in Overtime Loss to Ravens
Falcons QB Michael Penix Jr. sustains rib injury in overtime loss to Ravens, sidelined late in the game. Updates on his condition and team's next steps.
POLICY WIRE — Atlanta, United States — Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Penix Jr. suffered a rib injury during the fourth quarter of Sunday night’s overtime loss to the Baltimore Ravens, forcing him out of the game.
Penix was sacked by Ravens linebacker Tavius Robinson late in the fourth quarter and was unable to continue after the play. He remained on the field for several minutes before being attended to by medical staff. The Falcons’ offense struggled without him, and the team ultimately fell to the Ravens in overtime.
Penix expressed hope that the injury would not be long-term, stating he intended to return for the next game. However, with the injury occurring during a crucial moment in the contest, the Falcons will likely turn to Tua Tagovailoa as their starting quarterback moving forward.
