POLICY WIRE — Washington, D.C. — Democrats have secured control of the House of Representatives after reaching the 250-seat threshold. This victory marks the largest House majority for the party since the 2008 elections.

The election results have seen the defeat of at least 30 Republican incumbents, with losses occurring across both competitive swing districts and traditional GOP strongholds. Notable departures include Turner and Hudson, among the high-profile GOP casualties in the shift.

While the House control is settled, the Senate race remains highly competitive. Votes from Mississippi are still being tallied to determine the final outcome of the nail-biter for the upper chamber.
