POLICY WIRE — Dresden, Germany — A severe storm has claimed the life of one man and left three others seriously injured in the Saxon Switzerland region of eastern Germany, local authorities confirmed on Friday.
A 38-year-old man was killed near the Felsenbühne open-air theatre in Rathen when a falling tree struck him, according to a spokesman for the Dresden Emergency Services Control Centre. There were no reports of missing people.
Ten other individuals sustained injuries, with four of them suffering serious harm. Emergency services are currently assessing the extent of the damage — and providing necessary medical assistance.
