The pair first met when Romano was 14 and LaBeouf was 12 while filming the show’s pilot. The sitcom revolved around the intense rivalry between Ren, played by Romano, and Louis, portrayed by LaBeouf. Romano attributed their difficulties to differing personalities, noting that she was “Type A” while LaBeouf had a more chaotic lifestyle.
