Cleveland Browns secure a 27-24 victory over the Tennessee Titans as Andre Szmyt hits a 32-yard walk-off field goal, marking his third game-winner this year.
POLICY WIRE — Nashville, Tenn. — The Cleveland Browns secured a dramatic 27-24 victory over the Tennessee Titans on Sunday, relying on a 32-yard field goal from kicker Andre Szmyt as time expired.
This marks the third time this season that Szmyt has delivered a walk-off kick to seal a win for Cleveland. The decisive drive was set up by a critical 36-yard reception from Harold Fannin Jr., allowing the Browns to improve their record to 5-2.
The contest remained tightly contested throughout the second half. After a scoreless third quarter, the Browns held a 17-14 halftime lead, but a missed 43-yard attempt by Szmyt opened the door for Tennessee. Titans kicker Joey Slye capitalized on the opportunity, hitting a 29-yard field goal to knot the score at 17-17 with 8:41 remaining.
Cleveland quarterback Deshaun Watson orchestrated a response, rushing for a touchdown to reclaim a 24-17 lead with 4:34 left on the clock. Tennessee answered back when Tony Pollard recorded his third rushing touchdown of the afternoon, leveling the game at 24-24 with just 58 seconds left to play.
Earlier in the game, the Browns utilized a 78-yard drive to set up a 5-yard touchdown run by Judkins, his second of the day. Despite Pollard’s standout performance for the Titans, Watson successfully navigated the final minute to position Szmyt for the game-winning kick.
