BetGoodwin Targets £80 Million London Stock Market Debut
BetGoodwin, the UK-based online betting operator, is planning an £80 million London IPO despite industry concerns over potential tax hikes in the budget.
POLICY WIRE — London, United Kingdom — The father-and-son duo behind the online sports betting and casino firm BetGoodwin are preparing for a potential £80 million listing on the London stock market. This move comes as the company pushes forward with expansion plans, even as other major players in the sector voice concerns regarding anticipated tax increases in the upcoming government budget.
Industry giants, including Flutter, the parent company of Paddy Power, have cautioned that higher taxes on online gambling could significantly impact profitability. Despite these warnings, financial analysts have maintained a positive outlook, advising investors to consider purchasing shares in British gaming firms.
BetGoodwin, which operates under the ownership of Goodwin Racing Limited, provides sports betting and casino services to adults throughout Great Britain. The brand has been scaling its operations following a multi-year turnkey agreement finalized in 2024, which granted the company access to a specialized sportsbook platform supported by London-based trading and operational teams.
The platform currently provides extensive betting coverage, featuring over 200,000 live events each month and as many as 800 live markets. Ebbe Groes, the Co-Founder and Group CEO of EveryMatrix, noted that BetGoodwin has established itself as a top 20 operator in the UK, making the integration of advanced features and horse racing products a logical progression for the brand.
