The Jenkintown store marks the brand’s return to the town after a 14-year absence. In Elk Grove, which last had a major bookstore when Borders Books closed in 2011, the new location is one of eight in California this year. The company attributes the growth to its strategy of empowering local booksellers, which it claims has led to record-breaking store openings in 2024.
