Barcelona Fined €602 by Spanish FA Over Julián Álvarez Approach
Spanish FA fines Barcelona €602 following an Atlético Madrid complaint over their pursuit of striker Julián Álvarez during the summer window.
POLICY WIRE — Madrid, Spain — Barcelona has received a €602 financial penalty from the Royal Spanish Football Federation following a formal grievance filed by Atlético Madrid.
The disciplinary measure stems from Barcelona’s pursuit of striker Julián Álvarez during the summer transfer window, according to reports from Mundo Deportivo and Reuters.
Atlético Madrid lodged the complaint after accusing Barcelona of making contact with the Argentine forward, whose contract runs until June 2030, without providing prior written notification of their interest.
The RFEF opted for the nominal fine rather than issuing stricter disciplinary sanctions, continuing a pattern of minor penalties for similar approaches.
