In the aftermath of the Pahalgam attack, it is becoming increasingly clear that India is once again constructing a false blame game against Pakistan. With no credible evidence in hand, Indian officials have hastily briefed over 100 foreign missions and engaged world leaders, trying to portray Pakistan as responsible. This aggressive diplomatic sprint is a familiar tactic that India has often employed rushing to accuse, create international sympathy, and build a justification for hostile action without due investigation.
Historically, India has weaponized tragedies to shift attention from internal failures, especially in Kashmir. Rather than allowing transparent and neutral investigations, India’s first instinct has always been to blame Pakistan. After the 2016 Uri attack and the 2019 Pulwama incident, India immediately pointed fingers at Pakistan, bypassing any credible inquiry. This time, too, despite lacking concrete intelligence, India is desperately trying to frame a narrative of Pakistani “linkages” to the Pahalgam attack. It exposes India’s unchanged, deeply flawed approach of substituting diplomacy with dramatics.
However, the difference today lies in Pakistan’s remarkable response. Islamabad has acted with professionalism and composure. Pakistan categorically rejected the baseless allegations and went a step further by offering international scrutiny, urging independent investigation under neutral supervision. This bold stance demonstrates Pakistan’s growing diplomatic confidence and its commitment to transparency, which stands in sharp contrast to India’s rush for emotional manipulation.
Instead of reacting with anger, Pakistan is responding with facts. Instead of escalating tensions through irresponsible rhetoric, Pakistan is reinforcing regional peace by cautioning against adventurism. The Pakistani armed forces are maintaining heightened alertness, communicating a clear but measured warning: any aggression will be met with a decisive and proportionate response. Pakistan’s national leadership, civil and military, has struck the perfect balance between readiness and restraint.
India’s confusion is visible for all to see. On one hand, New Delhi is pushing its media outlets and diplomats to amplify the narrative of victimhood. On the other hand, it is grappling with the reality that Pakistan’s strong diplomatic posture, professional military preparedness, and national unity are not leaving any easy openings for unilateral action. India is stuck between its domestic need for a spectacle and its international obligations to avoid reckless escalation, especially between two nuclear-armed neighbors.
The international community, while sympathetic to India’s internal security challenges, is increasingly demanding credible evidence before endorsing any military escalation. So far, India has failed to produce such evidence regarding the Pahalgam attack. This growing skepticism further erodes India’s manufactured narrative, while Pakistan’s consistent calls for transparent investigations enhance its credibility.
Moreover, India’s aggressive rhetoric, with Prime Minister Modi promising “severe punishment” and the “destruction of terror safe havens,” is clearly designed more for domestic political consumption than as a realistic military strategy. After the failures of 2016 and 2019 where India’s so-called “surgical strikes” and “air strikes” resulted in limited gains and considerable embarrassment, the Indian leadership understands that real military engagement with Pakistan carries enormous risks of escalation.
Unlike the past, today’s Pakistan is more strategically aligned, diplomatically mature, and militarily robust. According to the Global Firepower Index 2024, Pakistan’s military is ranked among the top 10 in operational readiness, a position earned through hard-earned experience in both conventional warfare and counterterrorism operations. Pakistani forces are battle-hardened, disciplined, and prepared for multi-domain challenges, making any Indian military misadventure extremely risky.
Additionally, a 2023 Pew Research Center study found that over seventy-four percent of Pakistanis expressed a strong sense of national pride and faith in their country’s ability to resist external threats. This internal resilience is Pakistan’s real weapon. Unlike countries where public opinion may fracture under pressure, Pakistan becomes more united, more resolute, and more determined whenever its sovereignty is challenged.
The psychological warfare India tries to wage through diplomatic noise and media manipulation cannot shake the Pakistani spirit. Pakistanis remember 1947 when the country was born in blood and defied all odds. They remember 1965 when the entire nation, civilians and soldiers alike, defended Lahore against a numerically superior Indian force. They remember Kargil and Balakot, where Pakistan’s military professionalism exposed India’s exaggerations. These collective memories have instilled in the people of Pakistan an unbreakable faith in their armed forces and in themselves.
India’s frustration stems from this very reality. Despite all its diplomatic engagements, propaganda efforts, and economic positioning, New Delhi has not been able to break Pakistan’s will. Instead, Pakistan’s diplomatic maturity, military deterrence, and internal unity have made India’s strategy backfire. Far from isolating Pakistan, India’s baseless accusations have only reinforced Pakistan’s image as a responsible regional actor willing to defend peace and sovereignty through legitimate and lawful means.
India’s attempt to manufacture fear is failing because Pakistan has faced greater storms before. Fear cannot take root in a nation built on sacrifice and sustained by faith. No matter how loud the threats, no matter how many times India tries to play the victim card, the Pakistani nation knows deep inside that it has the strength, the courage, and the unity to defend its motherland.
Pakistan is not seeking conflict, but it will not shy away if one is forced upon it. It stands firm today as it did yesterday, prepared to respond proportionately yet decisively. Pakistan’s message to the world is clear: we reject false blame, we call for truth, and we are fully ready to defend our sovereignty with everything we have.
The world must not be misled by theatrical diplomacy. The stakes are too high. Pakistan stands for peace, but peace cannot come at the cost of truth. Pakistan’s strong comeback, based on calm strength and moral clarity, has left India confused, and no amount of false allegations can change that reality.
