Nvidia Commits $250 Million to Bolster UK Agentic AI Safety Research
Nvidia pledges $250 million in computing resources over five years to advance UK research into agentic AI safety, security, and autonomous systems.
POLICY WIRE — London, United Kingdom — American semiconductor giant Nvidia announced on Wednesday a major commitment to provide $250 million in computing resources to the United Kingdom. The five-year initiative is designed to bolster research efforts focused on the safety and security of agentic artificial intelligence.
Under the terms of the pledge, the company will supply $50 million in annual compute access. This infrastructure will support the broader British AI safety community, with specific allocations directed toward the Oxford-led BOLD lab, the UCL-led SOFAIR project, and Imperial College London.
The donation aims to accelerate the development of safeguards for increasingly autonomous AI systems. Beyond this research contribution, Nvidia also confirmed it is joining Prince William’s Earthshot Prize as a Global Alliance Founding Partner ahead of the upcoming GTC Berlin event.
