POLICY WIRE — Richmond, Virginia — A dedicated volunteer spent weeks searching for two missing Goldendoodles after a severe car accident left the pets stranded in the woods.
Christine Quaiff, a self-proclaimed pet tracker, has helped locate dozens of lost animals over the years. Her latest mission began when 66-year-old Annie Olup lost her husband in August 2024 and relied on her two dogs, Bailee and Tobey, for emotional support.

Olup was involved in a dangerous car crash in September while driving in heavy rain. Though she survived, the dogs went missing. Quaiff used drones, trail cameras, and traps to locate them, working tirelessly alongside her full-time job. After 10 days for Tobey and 16 days for Bailee, the dogs were found and safely returned to their owner.
