POLICY WIRE — Washington, United States — A new survey by The Associated Press and KFF shows that many rural voters who support the Make America Healthy Again (MAHA) movement believe President Donald Trump’s healthcare policies have not benefited their communities.

The poll, which surveyed over 2,000 rural registered voters, found that about 8 in 10 rural voters said the Trump administration’s policies had a negative effect or no impact on the health of people where they live. Among MAHA supporters, 68% shared this sentiment.

Despite the administration’s focus on MAHA, the findings suggest a disconnect between the policy priorities and the perceived effectiveness among rural voters. Some MAHA supporters, like Iowa pastor Mike Jager, acknowledge the policies have had minimal impact but believe they are moving in the right direction.
