POLICY WIRE — Macon, Georgia — Eleven teenagers were injured in a shooting that took place overnight at a park in Macon, Georgia, according to local authorities.

The incident occurred around midnight in Carolyn Crayton Park, located about 85 miles southeast of Atlanta. The victims, who ranged in age from 17 to 18, were part of a large gathering that had initially been planned for an Airbnb in Jones County but was moved to the park after the host asked attendees to leave the property.

The group included students from Central High School and Northeast High School. According to Sheriff David Davis, tensions between the original partygoers and another arriving group escalated into gunfire. Two individuals, an 18-year-old man and a 17-year-old boy, remain in critical condition, while the rest are reported to be stable. No arrests have been made, and the FBI is assisting with the ongoing investigation.
