Macklemore Ticket Prices Surge Past Ed Sheeran Following Tour Removal

Earlier this month, the American rapper revealed he was dropped from the British singer-songwriter’s Loop tour after delivering pro-Palestine remarks during a live performance. Macklemore asserted that Kraft Group CEO and Gillette Stadium owner Robert Kraft personally contacted Sheeran to bar the hip-hop artist from performing at the venue.

Sheeran responded by stating he refused to engage in a public controversy regarding the Gaza war, maintaining that the choice to drop Macklemore ultimately belonged to the promoter.

The controversy triggered further turbulence when several other opening acts on Sheeran’s bill subsequently withdrew. Meanwhile, demonstrators staged protests outside Sheeran’s first concert without Macklemore last week.

Despite the fallout, the Thrift Shop artist is preparing for a solo headlining appearance at Colorado’s renowned Red Rocks amphitheater scheduled for October 22. Although the concert was initially revealed back in March, audience interest has exploded in the wake of the recent dispute.

Official primary ticketing has closed, leaving only resale options available through Ticketmaster with general admission starting at $220. According to Rolling Stone, the event only achieved a complete sellout after the tour controversy erupted.

This steep resale figure towers above the $68 tickets listed for Sheeran’s independent performance in Philadelphia following the incident. Disgruntled supporters dissatisfied with the handling of the dispute attempted to offload their passes to Sheeran’s gig, causing ticket values to plummet sharply ahead of last Saturday’s event.
