The Moonlight star was first revealed as the lead in the Blade reboot at Comic-Con 2019, but the film never moved forward. In a recent GQ interview, Ali confirmed that the project had been abandoned, saying he still doesn’t understand why it didn’t happen.

Feige had previously described the failed reboot as the biggest career misstep of his professional life, and Ali fully agreed.
