The annual list, now in its third year, highlights 100 changemakers across various sectors, including business, arts, and agriculture. Each honoree has been selected for their work over the past year or for long-term dedication to environmental causes.
This year’s list includes five special honorees chosen by readers through the publication’s climate newsletter. These individuals are recognized for their efforts in areas ranging from urban greening to energy efficiency and community-led sustainability initiatives.
Kalpana Arias, an urban gardener, is celebrated for her work in making cities more livable through tree planting and community engagement. She developed an app called Glitch that allows users to digitally plant trees and alert local authorities to green space needs.
Faraz Khan, an entrepreneur and climate strategist, was awarded an MBE for his work in unlocking climate finance in emerging markets. He leads SEED Ventures, an organization focused on social and environmental impact.

The full list will be published on 20 September, coinciding with the United Nations’ Summit of the Future in New York. A live event will feature a keynote speech from David Miliband, president and CEO of the International Rescue Committee.
