POLICY WIRE — London, United Kingdom — A 31-year-old man has been charged with allegedly assisting Russian intelligence services, according to the Metropolitan Police. The arrest follows an investigation by counter-terrorism units.

Joshua Cammidge was taken into custody in connection with violations of the National Security Act. Authorities stated that he was arrested on suspicion of providing support to a foreign intelligence agency, as outlined under section 3 of the legislation.

In a separate incident, two British men were also charged in April for their alleged involvement in aiding Russian intelligence after an arson attack targeted a business linked to Ukraine. The Metropolitan Police confirmed that all three individuals were detained on similar charges related to foreign intelligence assistance.
