Trump’s Derogatory Remarks Against Female Reporter Spark Outrage

Trump’s outburst followed a report by The New York Times on his decision to forgo the 25th-anniversary commemoration of the September 11, 2001, attacks in New York. Haberman was one of the journalists credited with the story.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump referred to Haberman as “Maggot Hagerman,” claiming she fabricated a story about his plans for the 9/11 anniversary. He also accused her of being a “stalker” and demanded she relinquish any earnings from her reporting on him.

The president’s comments were met with swift condemnation from various media personalities and organizations. CNN’s Jake Tapper praised Haberman as a “great person, beautiful inside and out,” while Ron Filipkowski of MeidasTouch described Trump’s remarks as coming from an unwell person.

The New York Times stood by its reporting, with a spokesperson affirming the story’s accuracy and stating it was based on information from multiple sources involved in the planning of the 9/11 ceremony.

This is not the first time Trump has targeted Haberman. He has a history of criticizing her, particularly after the release of her book “Regime Change: Inside the Imperial Presidency of Donald Trump,” which he dismissed as Fake News.

Trump’s pattern of attacking female journalists extends beyond Haberman. He has previously made derogatory comments about CNN’s Kaitlan Collins and a Bloomberg journalist.
