POLICY WIRE — Atlanta, USA — Good Good Golf has terminated its partnership with Callaway and will no longer serve as the title sponsor for a PGA Tour event in November. This decision comes in the wake of a controversial video featuring a man pushing a woman, which sparked widespread criticism.
The video, intended as a promotional piece for Callaway’s new driver, was swiftly removed but not before causing significant backlash. Good Good Golf, a prominent YouTube golf channel, attempted to explain the video as a humorous take on the movie Obsession, but the damage was done.
PGA Tour CEO Brian Rolapp expressed disappointment, stating that Good Good’s role as a title sponsor was under review. The tournament has been rebranded as the “Austin Championship” on the PGA Tour’s website.
Callaway announced the end of its three-year sponsorship with Good Good, committing $1 million to organizations combating violence against women and enhancing its approval processes. Golf Channel also canceled a reality show featuring Good Good due to sponsor withdrawal.
