POLICY WIRE — City, Country — The fallout from a contentious Good Good Golf video, which showed a man pushing a woman to the ground, has led to significant retail actions. Dick’s Sporting Goods and its subsidiary, Golf Galaxy, have decided to eliminate Good Good Golf merchandise from both their physical and online stores.
On Tuesday, the Golf Channel made the decision to delay the debut of the reality show “Big Break x Good Good” after one of its sponsors withdrew support. Reports indicate that Golf Galaxy was the sponsor in question.
Good Good Golf, which is set to be the title sponsor for a new PGA Tour event this autumn, had previously released an advertisement for a Callaway driver. The ad depicted a man shoving a woman after she attempted to grab the club, followed by a stern warning, “Do not touch my new driver.”
Although the video was taken down on Friday, segments of it continued to circulate on social media platforms. Front Office Sports disclosed on Tuesday that Dick’s and Golf Galaxy had ceased the sale of Good Good products.
